Bringing Someone Home from Hospital? Make the Everyday Routes Through the House Easier First.
Simple adaptations can help prepare the bathroom, entrance and key routes through the home before discharge.
- Local installers, approved by our team
- Fixed, transparent pricing

Urgent readiness checklist
What needs doing before they walk back through the door
Work through this in order. Most homes need three or four of these, not a full refit.
- 1
Clear the routes they will use most
Bed to bathroom, and front door to kitchen. Lift rugs and trailing cables, and leave turning space for a frame.
- 2
Fit hallway and landing rails
A guidance rail along the route they walk every day gives something solid to hold from the first day home.
- 3
Sort the front door threshold
A modular half step or threshold ramp plus a porch rail means the doorstep is no longer the hardest part of the day.
- 4
Support the bathroom
Grab rails at the toilet, shower and bath edge, so washing does not depend on someone else being there.
- 5
Set up a key safe for carers
A police-approved, wall-anchored key safe lets district nurses and carers in without keys being left under mats.
- 6
Book the fitting around the discharge date
Bookings need at least five working days' notice so your materials arrive before your installer. Book around your discharge date.
Fixed-price fitting should not mean rushed fitting
We assess the location, use an appropriate product and fixing method, and check the completed installation before we leave.
- Discharge date recorded
- Practical routes considered first
- Scope and fixed price agreed before booking
